To ask the Minister for Justice and Equality the names all of the independent human rights committees other than the European Court of Human Rights under the aegis of the Council of Europe and under the aegis of the United Nations for which his Department has a primary liaison or reporting role, and for each one of those committees if mechanisms exist for removing a member when information comes to light after the person's appointment or election which raises significant questions over the suitability of that person to serve on such a committee, and if such mechanisms do exist if he will set out the procedures or where information on them can be publicly accessed; and if he will make a statement on the matter. My Department provides periodic reports and responses to requests for comments on reports and other material to a range of Council of Europe and United Nations bodies and committees. However, I have no ministerial responsibility in relation to the establishment of such committees or in relation to their internal rules of procedure.
