The information requested by the Deputy, in relation to the agencies that come under the aegis of my Department is set out in tabular format below:

Citizens Information Board

Pension Ombudsman Office

Pensions Board

It should be noted that the Pensions Board is self-financing and that consequently there is no cost to the Exchequer in relation to salaries involved. The pension schemes of the agencies are based on the standard civil service model pension schemes. There are no other costs associated with these salaries.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 140 and 141 together.

The statutory agencies that operate under the aegis of my Department are the Pensions Board and the Citizens Information Board. In addition, the Office of the Pensions Ombudsman comes under the remit of the Department.

None of the former employees of these organisations are in receipt of a pension in excess of €90,000 per annum.

As the Deputy will be aware, employment contracts issued by bodies and agencies funded from my Department's Vote Group are issued in accordance with the relevant provisions for such contracts set down by the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform. It should be noted that certain contracts also reflect the terms of any specific sanction granted by the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform.

The numbers of staff of the relevant bodies and agencies currently in receipt of a salary in excess of €100,000 and the corresponding numbers for 2011 are set out in the table below (as the Deputy is aware, my Department was established in June 2011).

I am advised that no additional allowances or bonuses of the type referred to by the Deputy are paid to these employees. In relation to the issue of pension costs, the position is that the relevant pension schemes, which are based on the standard civil service model pension scheme, are a matter for the bodies in question.
