To ask the Minister for Environment, Community and Local Government the number of deposit retention cases brought to court on behalf of tenants by the Private Residential Tenancies Board in the years 2009, 2010, 2011 and to date in 2012; the number of cases brought by the PRTB on behalf of landlords in 2009, 2010, 2011 and to date in 2012 in tabular form; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I have no function in the operational matters of the Private Residential Tenancies Board (PRTB), an independent statutory body established on 1 September 2004 under the Residential Tenancies Act 2004.

The PRTB's annual reports and accounts are available on its website, , and the most recently published report and accounts relate to 2010. The annual reports include statistics on dispute resolution.
