To ask the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport the discussions he has had to date in relation to possible sources of funding for the construction of the Narrow Water Bridge between Omeath and Warrenpoint for which planning permission has been granted; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The Narrow Water bridge project was submitted for INTERREG IVA funding and yesterday the steering group of the Special European Union Programmes Body (SEUPB) responsible for overseeing the INTERREG programme approved funding of €17.4 million for the project.  As part of the proposed financial arrangements, my Department together with the Department of Finance and Personnel in Northern Ireland will be contributing towards the cost of the project.
