To ask the Minister for Justice and Equality if he will provide details of all the Gaeltacht allowance payable to civil and public servants; the level of each allowance payable to each category and the monetary level of each allowance together with the total amount payable in 2009, 2010 and 2011. The total amount of Gaeltacht allowances paid to members of An Garda Síochána was €1,320,871 in 2009; €1,098,987 in 2010 and €1,068,766 in 2011. The allowance for each member is calculated at the rate of 7.5% of the member’s basic pay and does not have a fixed monetary value.
