To ask the Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation the compliance that surrounds companies who are not resident in the Republic of Ireland, for example if a Northern Ireland company trading in the Republic of Ireland is required to register with the Companies Registration Office and if the company is required to file accounts in Northern Ireland and establishes an external branch in the Republic, with a separate management structure, it must file its Northern Ireland accounts in the Republic; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Any company which is incorporated outside the State and establishes a branch in the State must be registered with the Companies Registration Office (CRO) under the European Communities (Branch Disclosures) Regulations 1993 (S.I. No. 395 of 1993) and any company which is incorporated outside this State and establishes a place of business in the State must be registered with the CRO under Part XI of the Companies Act 1963. These registrations must take place within one month of the establishment of the branch or place of business in the State. Information in relation to the filing obligations of an external company is available on the Companies Registration Office website at . I have no function in relation to the obligations of a company in jurisdictions outside the State.
