To ask the Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation the efforts that are being undertaken to have production resumed at a company (details supplied) processing plants in counties Monaghan and Dublin; if he and the State's industrial development agencies are involved in such discussions in relation to the need to create much needed replacement jobs; and if he will make a statement on the matter. On 10 October, the company concerned was placed into receivership.
Enterprise Ireland is heavily involved in all segments of the pork sector and has an in-depth working relationship with the primary and secondary processors within the sector.
Enterprise Ireland is available to work with all interested parties when a company faces trading difficulties and/or closure, in line with its remit. However, given the sensitive nature of situations such as this, discussions are conducted on a strictly confidential basis.
