To ask the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport his plans to announce the recipients of the sports capital grants; the expected date of this announcement; if a list of the successful applicants will be provided; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [43224/12]

My Department has received over 2,350 applications for funding under the 2012 Sports Capital Programme.  This is the largest number of applications ever received under the Programme.

Departmental officials are currently assessing  all applications and this process will take some time due to the volume of applications received.

I expect to be in a position to announce the list of successful applicants later this year.  All applicants will be informed of the outcome of their application at that stage.
