To ask the Minister for Health if he will provide in tabular form, a breakdown of the figures over a twelve month period from June 2011 to June 2012 on a county basis; the rates of suicide in those counties and reported parasuicides; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [42900/12]

Data on mortality is compiled and published by the Central Statistics Office. The most recent data available to my Department from that source on a county basis is in respect of the calendar year 2011. These figures are provisional and are set out as follows.

Data on Self-Harm presentations to Emergency Departments is compiled and published on an annual basis by the National Suicide Research Foundation. This information is not available on a county basis. The latest Annual Report published for 2011 indicates that there were 12,216 deliberate self harm presentations in that year.
