To ask the Minister for Social Protection if he will provide in tabular form social protection spending both as a percentage of gross domestic product and in nominal terms by year from 1992 to 2011. [41522/12]

In 2011, the expenditure on Social Protection was just under €21 billion, or 13.4% of Gross Domestic Product. Expenditure details for the years requested by the deputy are in the following tabular statement.
