Minister for Health (Deputy James Reilly): Information on Dr. James Reilly Zoom on Dr. James Reilly It is the policy in my Department only to engage the services of external consultants where it is felt to be appropriate and cost-effective, taking account of Government decisions and policy on the matter. The policy in my department is that consultancies above 100,000 must be approved by me and those below this figure are approved at Assistant Secretary level. Once initiated, the spend profile of each project is monitored by my Department on a monthly basis.
