The distinction between different categories of teaching professionals and child care workers (Montessori teachers, primary teachers, qualified nursery staff, special needs assistants etc.), in receipt of jobseekers benefit or allowance is not collated by my Department.

I am informed however that at the end of August there were a total of 2,028 teaching professionals and 1,390 in child care and related occupations aged between 22 and 26 years (inclusive) on the live register in receipt of jobseekers benefit or jobseekers allowance. I attach a table detailing the breakdown of this number by scheme for the Deputy’s information.
