Question 77: To ask the Minister for Finance the estimated saving that would accrue to the Exchequer in a full year if tax relief on charitable donations were restricted to the standard rate instead of the marginal rate; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [36124/12]

I am advised by the Revenue Commissioners that the full year saving to the Exchequer from standard rating the income tax relief for donations to charities and other approved bodies would be of the order of €20 million.
