The total Exchequer funding provided for the Road Safety Authority for the years in question is as follows:

2008 - €39.704m

2009 - €32.835m

2010 - €28.746m

2011 - €22.185m

2012 - €13.885m

The RSA has the capacity to generate income from fees. As fee income has increased in recent years, there has been a corresponding reduction in funding from the Exchequer.

The annual accounts for the RSA are laid before the Oireachtas after they have been approved by Government and will provide more details on the RSA's expenditure in each of the above years. The accounts are available from the Dáil Library.
