In order to qualify for the back to school clothing and footwear allowance certain conditions must be satisfied. An applicant must be in receipt of a social welfare payment and receive a qualified child increase in respect of any child for whom they wish to apply. The person concerned is not receiving an increase for this child on her weekly social welfare payment as the child is in receipt of a payment (disability allowance) in her own right. Accordingly, she is not entitled to receive the allowance in respect of this child.f
