Question 69: To ask the Taoiseach if he will provide, in tabular form, the number of public servants in receipt of pensions between €10,000 to €20,000; €20,001 to €30,000; €30,001 to €40,000; €40,001 to €50,000; €50,001 to €60,000; €60,001 to €70,000; to €70,001 to €80,000; €80,001 to €90,000; €90,001 to €100,000; and more than €100,000. Under the terms of the Civil Service Pensions Schemes, all retiring Civil Servants are normally entitled to an annual pension and a retirement lump sum based on the final salary and years of service.

The pension arrangements including calculations and payment of same, are a matter for the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform. The amounts granted to staff retiring from my Department under these entitlements in each of the past three years are detailed in the following table.
