Question 412: To ask the Minister for Communications, Energy and Natural Resources if he will provide a list of all allowances and the payment rates of those allowances paid to staff in his Department that are subject to income tax and the list of allowances and the payment rates paid to staff that are not subject to income tax; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The table lists the taxable allowances paid to staff in my Department, there are no non-taxable allowances paid to staff in the Department. The allowances and corresponding amounts in each case are as approved centrally by the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform.

Annual Personal to Holder (APTH) payment relating to integration of grades in the Revenue Commissioners is payable while the officer remains in his/her current grade level. A small number of staff who moved to this Department from the Revenue Commissioners are entitled to the APTH payment. The APTH rates are linked to salary scales. |
