Question 164: To ask the Minister for Finance if his attention has been drawn to the fact that increasing costs of private health insurance is now a major concern for multi-national corporations and has the potential to negatively impact future foreign direct investment decisions and job creation; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Neither I nor the Central Bank have any role in relation to this matter. The decision to provide any specific form of insurance cover and the price at which it is offered is a commercial matter for the companies concerned based on the assessment of the risks involved. The Deputy may wish to draw his concerns to the attention of the Health Insurance Authority.
