Question 638: To ask the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport the position regarding the proposed cancellation of the daily bus service from Tuam to Galway via Corofin (route 417) which, I am led to understand, has been advanced by the National Transport Authority; if this cancellation has been proposed and the justification has been used for it; if proper weight was given to the public service responsibility of Bus Éireann, to environmental concerns, and to his general policy in respect of public transport. The NTA are responsible for the licensing of Public Bus Passenger Services and the pso contract with Bus Eireann for bus services.
