The traffic management guidelines which were prepared in conjunction with the then Department of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government, issued in 2003. The purpose of these guidelines is to provide guidance on a variety of issues including traffic planning, traffic calming and traffic management. In particular, chapter 8 of these guidelines deal with selecting the appropriate type of junction. These guidelines are available on my Department's website at www.dttas.ie .
