Question 910: To ask the Minister for Health further to Parliamentary Question 523 of 15 May 2012, if he will confirm that an application for National Lottery funding via the Health Service Executive to support the Irish Performing Arts Festival which will be hosted by the Cope Foundation and take place in Cork city and county between 27 and 30 June 2012 was received and rejected by him or the HSE; the reasons for this rejection; the support that has been given to the festival in recent years; his views on whether the festival has been of benefit to persons with intellectual disabilities and autism in recent years in view of the fact that art and drama have a hugely beneficial therapeutic element in caring for persons with disabilities; and if he will make a statement on the matter. My Department still has no record of an application from the Group referred to by the Deputy. If the organisation wishes to make an application for National Lottery Funding they should send in a formal application. Detailed procedures, along with the application form are set out on my Department's website - www.doh.ie.
I am not aware if the Health Service Executive is in receipt of an application for National Lottery Funding from its 2012 allocation. However, I have referred the matter to the Executive for direct reply to the Deputy.
