Question 650: To ask the Minister for Justice and Equality if he will provide an update on the case of a missing persons (details supplied); the efforts to find them. [26324/12]

I am informed by the Garda authorities that the person in question was reported missing to the Spanish Police in January 2008 and that their disappearance is being investigated by the Guardia Civil in Spain. An Garda Síochána is liaising with the Spanish authorities in providing whatever assistance is required to progress the investigation in that jurisdiction. I am further informed that the Gardaí recently held a meeting with the family of the person concerned and will continue to do whatever it can to assist them.
