Question 149: To ask the Minister for Justice and Equality the circumstances under which a motorist who is involved in a fatal collision is prosecuted for dangerous driving causing both death and serious injuries to passengers in the other vehicle; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I have no role in the investigation or prosecution of alleged offences. The question of whether or not a particular person should be prosecuted and for what criminal offence is the responsibility of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), who is independent in the performance of her functions.
