Recruitment to my Department is carried out by the Public Appointments Service having regard to the required qualifications and competencies that best match the needs of the post. My Department is currently carrying out Workforce Planning. This will identify recruitment needs for the future. In this context, officials from my Department are liaising with their counterparts in the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform. The Public Appointments Service will shortly be recruiting to fill 2 Instructor posts at Executive Officer grade in the Civil Defence Board. This recruitment is being carried out at the request of my Department and with the sanction of the Department of Public Expenditure and Reform. Applicants will be required to hold an Education & Training qualification relevant to the post, preferably at Higher Education and Training Awards Council (HETAC) level.
