Question 163: To ask the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine if he will view Dingle harbour, County Kerry as a special case before signing the fishery harbour centres rates and charges order 2012 by maintaining the existing rates and charges which are deemed to be fair and manageable; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Charges at each of the six Fishery Harbour Centres are levied by virtue of the Fishery Harbour Centres (Rates & Charges) Order 2003. My Department has however recently conducted a review of the 2003 Order and I can confirm that a draft Rates & Charges Order has been published on foot of that review. That draft Order is currently the subject of a public consultation process.
My Department has received a number of submissions in relation to the proposed charges at Dingle and other Fishery Harbour Centres. On completion of the public consultation process these will be given full consideration and at that stage I will, if necessary make any appropriate amendments to the Rates & Charges Order.
