Question 1377: To ask the Minister for Health the number of persons who are currently on the long term illness scheme; the number of same who have qualified as they have diabetes; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [19321/12]

There are approximately 60,000 people who receive medicines and appliances under the Long Term Illness Scheme and approximately 44,000 of these have diabetes.
