Question 61: To ask the Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade, in line with the commitments contained in the Good Friday Agreement and the identified and proven need for continued supports for political ex-prisoners, and given their inclusion as a specific target group in previous rounds of funding, his views that any PEACE IV will continue to recognise political ex-prisoners as a specific target group. While the Government warmly supports a PEACE IV programme, the relevant budgetary discussions in Brussels regarding a new Multiannual Financial Framework are still at an early stage. It is too soon to go into any detail on the outcome of such discussions. The Government continues to place importance on the reintegration of ex-prisoners into society.
