Question 573: To ask the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine if he will examine the calculation of the lump sum payment of a former employee (details supplied) of the Department regarding the deductions especially the interest on a previous payment by a previous State organisation; it he will give a detailed breakdown of the way these figures were calculated on a yearly basis; and if he will make a statement on the matter. My Department has re-checked the calculation of the deductions from the lump sum in this case and is satisfied that it is correct. A letter is being sent to the person concerned outlining the basis upon which this deduction was made from the lump sum paid to him.
