Question 539: To ask the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine if there was a report in 1994 by the then Minister with relevant responsibility, which recommended that fish farms not be allowed any closer than 20 km from any wild salmon river, if so the reason this report was never published; and if such a report was prepared under the auspices of his Department he will make it available in the Oireachtas Library. The precise nature of the report referred to by the Deputy is not clear. However, my Department's records indicate that a report entitled 'The Sea Trout Working Group 1994' was commissioned by the Department of the Marine, prepared by the Fisheries Research Centre and published in early 1995.
