The body with the statutory responsibility for the support and promotion of film-making in Ireland, in respect of both the indigenous sector and inward productions, is the Irish Film Board (IFB). This agency is funded through my Department and is independent in its day-to-day operations.

The allocation provided to the IFB by my Department for 2012 is €15.7m - €2.5m in current funding and €13.2m in capital funding.
