Question 78: To ask the Minister for Education and Skills the position regarding the provision of a new second-level school in Dublin (details supplied); if a sufficient site has been acquired for the provision of the school; if so, if the site is owned by his Department; when the project is likely to proceed to the next stage; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I am pleased to advise the Deputy that the new second-level school to which he refers is one of the 43 new second level schools which I announced earlier this week to proceed to construction as part of my Department's five year capital investment programme.

The school, when completed, will cater for 1000 pupils and it is intended that the proposed building project will go to construction during 2013.

A suitable site has been identified and Fingal County Council is leading negotiations on the matter on behalf of my Department. I am advised that the acquisition is at an advanced stage. However, due to the commercial sensitivities attaching to the site acquisition process, I am not in a position to comment further at this time.
