Question 636: To ask the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport his view on the lack of consistency in ticketing practice on the Irish Rail network which means some stations do not have ticketing machines or desks and passengers must buy their tickets on board despite this being a fineable offence at any other station (details supplied). The issue raised is an operational matter for Irish Rail. I have referred the Deputy's question to the company for direct reply. Please inform my private office if you do not receive a reply within ten working days.
