Question 333: To ask the Minister for Communications, Energy and Natural Resources the amount of money allocated by him in the past four years to energy and natural resources; the amount of money allocated by him in the past four years to energy efficiency schemes including the warmer homes, the better energy scheme and their predecessor schemes; the allocation to the scheme in 2011 and 2012 from the jobs initiative scheme announced by the Government last year; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The amounts of money allocated to energy efficiency schemes in the past four years are set out in the table. It should be noted that from 2011, expenditure on the Warmer Homes Scheme has been consolidated into the National Energy Retrofit Programme. Expenditure on other energy efficiency supports has also been consolidated into this programme.

Under the Jobs Initiative of May 2011, an additional €19 million in Exchequer funding was allocated to the National Energy Retrofit Programme. This was supplemented by €11 million savings from within my Department's 2011 allocation. The amount provided for 2012 is as set out above.
