Question 248: To ask the Minister for Health if his attention has been drawn to the fact that an 88 year old person (details supplied) will have to be removed from the care of a nursing home, which they desperately require, due to the time taken by the Health Service Executive to process their fair deal application and in a situation in which their family cannot pay any further costs relating to nursing home care; if he will instruct the HSE to issue fair deal approval immediately; his view that it is acceptable that the person be returned to the care of the local acute hospital; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
