Question 544: To ask the Minister for Justice and Equality the number of Garda forensic collision investigators that are currently employed within An Garda Síochána; the number that are assigned to each Garda district; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [9811/12]

I am informed by the Garda authorities that there are currently 49 forensic collision investigators (13 sergeants and 36 gardaí) assisting in traffic collision investigation, appointed on a regional basis throughout the country, as follows:
