Question 87: To ask the Minister for Education and Skills further to Parliamentary Question No. 222 of 31 January 2012, the number of teachers in total currently carrying out their probationary period in Limerick; the nationwide figure for teachers who are on their probationary period; of the national figure, the number carrying out their probationary period through the national internship programme; and if he will make a statement on the matter. There are currently 37 teachers carrying out their probationary period in Limerick City and 54 in Limerick County which means there are 91 in total carrying out their probationary period in Limerick.

There are 2,132 teachers carrying out their probationary period nationally and of these 16 are carrying out their probationary period through the national internship programmes - FÁS Work Placement Programme and JobBridge.
