Question 237: To ask the Minister for Health if he will provide a timeline for the merger of the National Cancer Registry board with the Health Service Executive as per his rationalisation plan for State agencies and bodies; when this project is expected to be completed; and if he will make a statement on the matter. It is intended that the National Cancer Registry, which has a pivotal role in respect of cancer surveillance and intelligence, will be integrated into the HSE's National Cancer Control Programme following the enactment of the Health Information Bill. It is expected that the Bill will be published during 2012.
