Question 118: To ask the Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government, further to Parliamentary Questions Nos. 145 and 147 of 25 January 2012, the individual projects to which funding was committed under the capital assistance scheme in 2011; the amount of funding committed to each of these projects in 2011 and the amount actually spent on each of these projects in 2011; with respect to the allocation of funding for 2012, the amount of this funding already allocated to projects approved in 2011 or before; the amount available for new applications in 2012; whether there is any formal application process for this portion of the 2012 allocation; and if he will make a statement on the matter. It is not possible to provide the information requested in the form sought in the question. Information will be compiled and sent to the Deputy as soon as possible to meet his request so far as this is possible.

Work is currently underway on preparing the Social Housing Investment Programme for 2012, including projects funded under Capital Assistance Scheme (CAS). Information submitted by local authorities for the 2012 programme is still being collated and examined. I will, in the context of an examination of existing programme commitments under CAS, give consideration to the financial scope for new CAS projects during 2012. I envisage making announcements in relation to budgets or allocations for the various housing supply programmes in early March.
