Question 628: To ask the Minister for Health if he will advise, since the centralisation of the medical card applications, the total number of applications which have been received by his office; of the total number of applications received, the number that are waiting for processing for more than three months, six months, nine months and 12 months separately; of the total number of medical card applications received in the central processing office, the percentage of cards that have been issued within 15 working days; his views that there is undue delay in the processing of medical cards in the primary care reimbursement scheme; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The information sought by the Deputy is not readily available. However, I have asked the Health Service Executive to supply this information to me and I will forward it to the Deputy as soon as possible.
