The Children's Hospital of Ireland will provide for paediatric tertiary services nationally and paediatric secondary care for the greater Dublin area and will cater for both public and private patients.

The new hospital is designed to accommodate all patients in single rooms with en-suite facilities. Standards of in-patient accommodation will not depend in any way on private health insurance cover.
