To comply with Data Protection Legislation, a number of changes are required to the Newborn Screening Card and the National Newborn Bloodspot Screening Programme. I requested that the HSE undertake a review of the governance policy regarding the retention and disposal of Newborn Screening Cards (NSCs). A draft report on the agreed governance structures undertaken by the National Newborn Screening Programme Governance Group has been prepared. I expect to receive its final report shortly.
