The National Parks and Wildlife Service of my Department has taken a lease on the ground floor of the Heritage and Genealogical Centre in Corofin with a view to opening it as an information point for the Burren National Park. Good progress has been made on the design, fabrication and installation of interpretative material for the information point. Work is nearing completion and the centre will be open to the public for the 2012 season.

The new facility will provide information and an introductory level of interpretation and orientation for visitors to the Burren National Park. The siting of the facility within the village of Corofin will afford the opportunity for the local community to benefit from its connection with the National Park.
