The number of persons currently employed within the Naval Service Diving Section (NSDS) is eleven. The establishment for the Naval Service Diving Section is twenty three. As the Naval Service Diving Section can cater for a maximum of 12 students per course, and only one course is held annually, the maximum number of students that could be trained over the next two years is twenty four. Naval Service operational requirements will dictate the number of students who can be released at one time to attend this course, and therefore it is not possible at this juncture to say how many will be released to attend over the next 2 years.
