The Garda Central Vetting Unit (GCVU) provides a vetting service to the HSE in respect of applicants for an assessment of eligibility and suitability to adopt. Applications made to the Unit are made by organisations registered with the Unit. Applications are not accepted from individuals. In the case of adoptions the Unit deals with requests from the HSE. The GCVU does not refuse any vetting application provided it is made by a registered organisation. I am not aware of any difficulties in this regard.

As this question would appear to concern an individual application for a declaration of eligibility and suitability to adopt, I have referred it to the HSE for direct reply to the Deputy.
