The person mentioned was awarded a lump sum and pension on his retirement on ill health grounds in 1982 in respect of his service in the Forest Service. As he was not a member of the Spouses and Children's Pension Scheme, his widow is not entitled to a spouse's pension under the terms of the Scheme. Any caretaking duties he subsequently carried out would have been on behalf of Coillte.
