Question 55: To ask the Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government the reason there is no legislation to cover housing transfers from one local authority to another; his plans to amend the current legislation to address this; and if he will make a statement on the matter. There is no specific housing legislation in relation to households that wish to transfer from housing provided by one housing authority to that of another authority. I am aware that some authorities facilitate mutual transfers on an informal basis. I am not aware of particular issues arising in this area but I will keep the matter under review in the context of future housing legislation.
