The HSE works closely with voluntary organisations to ensure that marginalised and at risk communities have access to, and are able to utilise health and social services in an equitable manner. The HSE provides funding and services to the homeless catered for by the voluntary organisations. The funding reductions referred to are part of the HSE's efforts to address the projected deficit within this year's budget allocation.
Reflecting the current economic situation the HSE must manage service levels within existing resources. Similarly, voluntary organisations face challenges in delivering efficiencies to ensure that services are delivered within the allocated budget. The HSE is working closely with all service providers to ensure that the provision of services is effectively managed.
