Question 109: To ask the Minister for Finance the amount he expects to raise through the domicile levy otherwise known as the tax exile levy, by the filing date of 31 October; the amount that has been paid to date; his views that the rules of the levy should be adapted on an ongoing basis to ensure that the largest number of high net worth persons are subject to the levy; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The Domicile Levy can be paid at any time up to 31 October in the year following the valuation date, which is 31 December of each year. The first valuation date for the levy was 31 December 2010 and the tax return and payment of the levy for 2010 is not due until 31 October 2011. The yield figure will not be available until after that date. As with other areas of taxation, the rules are constantly kept under review and any changes will be determined in the context of Budget and Finance Bill.
