Question 145: To ask the Minister for Justice and Equality if he will make provision for the working group established to advise him on the new human rights and equality commission to receive submissions from the public and from civil society organisations and non-governmental organisations; the timeframe for the conclusion of the work of the group; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I have established a Working Group to advise me on the establishment of a new Human Rights and Equality Commission. This Group has been provided with clear terms of references and the process will also be informed by recent studies of the equality and human rights bodies commissioned by my Department, in which a broad range of stakeholder groups have been consulted. The timeframe for the Group will be short as I intend to have a new Commission in place by the end of February.
