Question 238: To ask the Minister for Social Protection the way in which a supplementary welfare allowance mortgage interest supplement rate was calculated for a person (details supplied) in County Cork; the reason this payment was recently reduced; and if she will make a statement on the matter. The Health Service Executive (HSE) has advised that the person concerned has been awarded mortgage interest supplement of €35.90 per week which is the full amount payable based on the household income which is comprised of One-parent Family Payment and maintenance received.

The Health Service Executive (HSE) has advised that the person concerned has been awarded mortgage interest supplement of €23.80 per week which is the full amount payable based on the household income from earnings, Jobseekers Allowance and Carers Allowance.
